Palm Springs - South Coast Field Office

The Palm Springs - South Coast Field Office manages approximately 1.7 million acres of public land. The acreage is spread over 9.5 million acres in five geographic segments of southern California, each with their own issues and management emphasis.

Because the Palm Springs -South Coast Field Office is responsible for public lands in the urban interface where the growth is occurring, the management of those lands directly affects the quality of life for the large and growing population of southern California.

In addition, the Palm Springs - South Coast Field Office manages some of the most accessible desert recreation and wilderness available to these people.
